Hey yal! I’m Rocío (pronounced ro-SEE-oh) of RisasRizos and I am so happy that you have stumbled across my blog! Welcome! I am a Curly Girl, YouTuber, a Christian, a Latina, a daughter, a sister, an overthinker, a lover of food, a social media influencer, an adventurer, a member of the Who Dat Nation and now… a blogger! I thank you for taking the time to visit the dot com of what is now a project of RisasRizos and I hope you find pleasure in reading about the bits and pieces of who I am in this blog.

RisasRizos (the channel) was created in the Summer of 2014 and has been steadily growing and reaching subscribers in countries all over the world! While my videos are primarily hair related, I find interest in many other things that also make me happy. And alas! A blog was born! I hope you too will find interest in my posts on this newly created blog covering topics such as naturally curly hair, recipes, lifestyle, travels and DIY projects as well as motivational words to inspire you to be the best you that you can be! Heck you might even learn some Spanglish while you’re here! While YouTube is currently my go-to hobby, I am excited to see where the blogging world can take me and how much closer I can get to my subscribers.

I currently live in the greatest city in the world. Good Ol’ New Orleans, home of the Superbowl Champs and Who Dat Nation (I know it was a rough season this year, just give me this one pass). I live for Mardi Gras, Second Lines, Jazz, Gumbo, and the mighty Mississippi. If you are ever in town, let’s grab some begniets and chat over a few cups of café aú lait!

Q. What camera do you use?
A. To film my videos, I use an Olympus PEN E-PL1. I’m not a techie so I’ll give you the watered down google description. It has 12.3 megapixels, 3X optical zoom, a crop sensor and pop up flash. Not up to par with some of the cameras your top Beauty Gurus on YouTube use but throw a wicked filter on it and it gets the job done!

Q. What is your hair type?
A. I have a mixture of 3B and 3C curls (the B falls primarily in the front and sides of my head while I have more of tighter C pattern in the back of my head) I have low porosity, low density, fine curls. My curls also enjoy long walks on the beach at sunset, and being tousseled by the seaside breeze. How’s that for hair type?

Q. What editing software do you use?
A. Wondershare for Windows. I haven’t quite fallen into the Apple black hole yet!
