Curlfriend of the Week: Sandy Linares

Guess what’s back! Curlfriend of the Week! That’s right, I’m bringing this series back because there are far too many of you flooding my inbox with success stories after following my curl tips and I’m too excited to keep those to myself!

So, the next Curlfriend of the Week is Sandy Linares! Here’s what she had to say:

“I have been natural now since 2010/2011 and I have learned over time that healthy hair means to take care of your hair and no worry about length… Today my hair is the healthiest it’s ever been and I love the volume I acquired with my most recent cut…”

To keep her curls in the best shape, Sandy’s favorite routine typically consists of applying either a styling cream or gel and letting her hair air dry for 10-15 minutes. She then diffuses on cool/cold air to dry her hair quicker and get more volume. At night, she always puts her hair in a pineapple and sleeps on a satin pillowcase.

Some of her favorite products to wash with are DevaCurl Decadance Line and SheaMoisture’s Jamaican Black Castor Oil Line. She also tends to leave conditioner in her hair after washing and sections her hair into small sections when applying products. She always gets great results by using a Denman brush to detangle the sections before applying the product.

Thank you Sandy for sharing your transition story and styling routine! It’s the best way to help inspire other curly girls out there interested in getting their curls back, too!
